The island’s scenery is fascinating and lush with mangroves, banana plantations, and huge mango trees. The island is part of a conservation area and is an ecosystem with seaweed, corals and a big variation of plants, and sea- and land animals. The island can only be reached by boat or at low tide when the only road to the island surfaces.
The Island is located in the South of Zanzibar and it can only be accessed via a causeway that is accessible during low tide it is also known as “Mosses Road”. When the water comes up, the road disappears and you might as well travel by traditional Dhow. Uzi Island has a population of 6,000 peoples but still don’t have any restaurant or bar.
